This is a temporary opportunity to work with an engaging woman who loves playing cards, board games, crafting, gardening, music, going for walks and enjoying life!  D prefers a structured life with fun times as well.  She has a lovely two-bedroom apartment in the Joyce/Collingwood area of East Vancouver, close to the skytrain, shopping and other amenities.

Duties and responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include helping D prepare her dinner, helping her get ready for bed with prompts, being available overnight in case of an emergency (she sleeps though the night most nights) and helping her get her morning started.
Weekends include helping D with her lunch and dinner, doing chores and things around the house.

Preferred Training or Experience

You need to be comfortable with someone who can get quite anxious at times and struggles with mental health. Experience in the mental health field is preferred. You need to be able to set good boundaries but also be gentle and empathetic. Having a good self care routine is also extremely important, as you will be a positive role model for D and also to maintain a healthy work/life balance.

Full training on D's support will be provided.

Supporting People who get anxious; Ability to motivate, encourage and engage the interests of others.; Computer proficiency (email, Word, internet usage)

Expected Hours of Work

Sunday to Friday 4:00 pm to 10:00 pm and overnight until 9:00 am.
This is a relief position, open availability during these times. You will be working some of these shifts.
